This is largely due to the poor job that the developers of Black Ops Cold War did compared to Modern Warfare, and a significant number of players have outright refused to move on.

This highly successful FPS series has taken players from the treacherous battlefields of World War II in the first few games all the way to the far future in Infinite Warfare.ĭespite the release of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, the previous year’s game, Modern Warfare, is still going strong. However, the game’s guns are still being updated in Warzone, with Modern Warfare weapons being recently buffed to be closer to BOCW guns.Ĭall of Duty has long been one of the best games in the world, especially if you judge that metric by the number of people playing the game. It’s a shame that Call of Duty Modern Warfare doesn’t see major content updates anymore because of Black Ops Cold War taking its place as the latest Call of Duty title. These two new maps are Al-Raab Airbase and Drainage, both of which briefly appeared in custom games a while back before being mysteriously pulled from the game. Modern Warfare has gone a long time without any content but this finally ended a few days ago, when the game saw the addition of new maps for the first time in a long time. Unfortunately, it looks like Activision is gradually dropping support for this game, focusing instead on Warzone and Black Ops Cold War.

Modern Warfare’s last major update added a couple of maps into the game with relatively little fanfare, and fans are holding their breath waiting for yet another update.
